Hit 50 sweeps in one week and it changed my mind about dry brushes

I always thought dry brushes were overkill for routine cleanings, but last Tuesday I did my 47th sweep of the week at a house on Elm Street and the customer showed me a before picture of their flue caked in creosote. They swore by using a dry brush set after every normal sweep in the off season. Now I'm at 52 for the week and I've started recommending them to anyone with a pellet stove insert. Anyone else notice a big difference with dry brushing on older installs?

Yeah, @quinna89's buddy Dave's story rings a bell. I've seen that exact thing happen more than once on older setups. The difference in airflow is no joke, it's like night and day.

You got a buddy named Dave who tried dry brushing on his own old setup and ended up pulling out a clump of creosote the size of a fist. Said he could hear his stove breathing easier after that.
