Four years sounds low to me. Most folks I know get theirs done every year or two, maybe not on a perfect schedule but way more often than that. A lot of it comes down to where you live too. If you burn wood all winter you are gonna need it more, and if you barely use the fireplace you can stretch it out. The four year thing might be counting people who never use theirs at all, which kinda throws the whole average off.
