PSA: Stop using the wrong size brush on chimney liners

I was on a job last Tuesday over in Mapleton and the homeowner showed me what his last sweep did. The guy used a brush that was way too big for a 6-inch liner. Scratched up the whole inside and left soot packed in the corners. I asked the guy why he did it and he said "it fits so I figured it was fine." That's like using a snow shovel on a cat box. You gotta match the brush diameter to the liner, not just jam it in there. Anyone else seeing this mess out there?

Agree completely. Seen way too many scratched liners from that exact mistake.
