Hit 500 hours on my 302 rebuild and the compression numbers made me do a double take
When I buttoned up the 302 in my 68 Mustang I figured I would be happy just to hear it run, but last week the odometer on my break in log rolled to 500 hours of combined build and drive time. I did a compression check in the garage and every cylinder came back between 148 and 152 psi, which is tighter than the book spec of 130 to 150. I used a cheap HF leak down tester and a beam torque wrench from a yard sale in Modesto, nothing fancy. What numbers did you guys get on your first break in check, and did any cylinder come up weird on you?
