Had a guy at the tire shop explain why my '69 Mustang kept getting surface rust in storage
Turns out I was parking it on a concrete floor without any rubber mat underneath and the moisture wicking up through the slab was doing it, so now I'm looking at putting down those thick horse stall mats from Tractor Supply anyone else dealt with this floor issue for long term storage?

Four years in my garage with a '72 Camaro and I just parked it on cardboard like some kind of caveman. Never had a spot of rust pop up on the floor pans but maybe that's because my slab is sealed. Are you sure that was the actual cause or just something the tire guy told you so you'd buy floor mats from him?

Oh man, it's like how people swear you need to wash your car tires with special soap but really it's just a way to sell you more stuff. I feel like half the "you gotta do this or your car will rot" advice comes from someone who stands to profit off your worry. Idk, maybe the slab really did save Wade's floor pans and the whole thing is just another example of how we overcomplicate simple stuff.
