I finally caved and bought a dehumidifier for my garage last spring

I was storing my '72 Dart in an uninsulated garage and kept getting that musty smell. Dropped $180 on a decent 50-pint model and ran it all summer. My interior stays bone dry now and the rust on my floor pans actually stopped spreading. Anyone else have luck with a specific brand for long term storage?

I put a cheap humidity sensor from Amazon right next to mine and set it to kick on at 50%. Ended up running way less than I expected but the garage still stayed dry. Makes me wonder if Im just wasting electricity running it full blast all the time like I used to.

Fifty percent is overkill. You're fine with way higher than that.

Wait, is reading humidity sensors wrong too? Cause Ive been airing out my whole house manually like a caveman with a broken thermometer.
