Unpopular opinion: keeping my Chevelle in a buddy's barn did more damage than leaving it outside
I read on a Corvette forum last Tuesday that a car parked in a dirt-floor barn near me in Ohio picks up more rust than one sitting on pavement, because the ground holds moisture right up under the frame. I always figured a roof overhead was the whole game, but my floor pans had 4 new pinholes after 2 winters in that barn, while my neighbor's car sat on gravel the whole time and stayed dry. Has anyone else had a dirt floor backfire on them, or am I the only one who learned this the hard way?
