Went to look at a storage unit outside Phoenix last weekend

Drove 45 minutes to check out a place that claimed climate control, but the inside temp was pushing 95 degrees and they had no idea when the AC was last serviced. Has anyone else run into storage places lying about their humidity levels like that?

David nailed it, lots of places slap that label on without actually doing the work.

Climate control means the unit stays at or below 85 degrees and humidity is managed (usually 50-60% range). A facility hitting 95 with no AC history isn't just sloppy, that's borderline false advertising. You might want to check the rental contract for a "climate controlled" clause (some places put it in fine print but rarely enforce it).

Wow I always figured climate controlled just meant it stayed cooler than outside, never realized there were actual temp and humidity specs tied to it. This makes me rethink some of the places I've rented from that claimed it but couldn't keep things stable. Appreciate you breaking it down like that, definitely changes how I'll look at storage options going forward.
