A heatwave wiped out my tomato plants, and I'm livid
Climate inaction is costing us our food supply.

My uncle upstate had to stop growing kale because the summers got too harsh for it. He always said kale was bulletproof, but the last few seasons just burned it to the ground before it could fully grow. It’s wild to see what we called “easy” plants start to fail. Makes you wonder what’s next on the list that won’t make it, right?

I remember seeing a story about a blueberry farm in Oregon that lost 90% of its crop last summer. I used to brush off climate reports as something for future generations to deal with. Watching my own basil turn to crisp in the backyard last month flipped a switch for me. It’s not some far off problem anymore, it’s hitting our dinner plates right now. The fact that we’re still arguing about basic fixes while gardens and farms fail is just maddening.

Seriously, it's INFURIATING how we're still debating this when food is literally dying in front of us. My neighbor's tomato plants got wiped out last month too, and she's been growing them for years. What basic fix do you think would make the BIGGEST difference if people just got on board?
