Got called out for my 'green' lawn care routine

Honestly, a friend told me my electric mower and organic fertilizer didn't matter because I was still watering my Kentucky bluegrass lawn three times a week in Phoenix. Tbh, they were right. I switched to a local xeriscape mix and cut watering to once every ten days. Has anyone else made a big change after getting a reality check like that?

Lol that plastic grass story is a whole mood. Sometimes you gotta just rip it all out and start over.

Oh man, totally. I had that stuff in a rental's tiny backyard once. It got so hot in the summer you couldn't walk on it, and it just collected leaves and junk. Ended up tearing it all out and putting down some cheap mulch and a couple real plants. Felt so much better.
