Just dropped $300 on a heat pump water heater last month
I mean I was skeptical at first but my electric bill dropped like $40 already. Anyone else make the switch and see similar savings?

Idk man, that $40/month savings sounds about right from what I've seen. I did the math and mine paid for itself in like 8 months, so you're probably on track too. It's wild how much those old electric tanks were eating up.

My 50 gallon Rheem paid for itself in just over 7 months. I was spending like $65 a month on electric alone and now it's down to about $22. The old tank was from 2008 so it was probably working overtime. I actually had my utility company do a free energy audit and they pointed out how much heat I was losing through the tank itself.

The "paid for itself in 8 months" thing is dead on. I did the same switch last year and my bill dropped about $35 a month, so it all adds up fast. Plus I love that it's quieter than my old one. Did you get a rebate from your state or utility company too?
