Just realized I've cut my plastic waste by 87 pounds this year without even trying hard
I was packing up my recycling bin yesterday and noticed I hardly ever buy stuff wrapped in plastic anymore - it's all been swaps like bar soap instead of bottles and beeswax wraps over ziploc bags. Has anyone else hit a random milestone that snuck up on them like this?

Honestly I used to roll my eyes at this stuff but youve totally changed my mind.

Have you checked if your local stores are actually stocking less plastic now, or is it just us getting better at dodging it?

Three weeks ago I finally started paying attention at my local Kroger and Target here in Portland, and I swear the produce aisle has way more loose veggies now compared to last year... but then again maybe Im just looking harder. @piperbailey you make a really good point because I think our own awareness changes how we see things, you know? The other day I saw someone in the bulk section with their own jars and I almost hugged them in solidarity. It feels good to know other people are asking these questions too, even if the stores are still drowning in plastic wrap. I hope Im not just seeing what I want to see, but either way it makes me feel less alone in this struggle.
