Neighbor told me to switch my lawn to clover. Best advice I got in years.
She said grass is a water hog and clover handles heat better. I changed it last summer in Austin. Water bill dropped by like 40 bucks a month. My yard stayed green through the drought. Anyone else made the switch?

Sure, just give the bees a new place to hang out.

That "sure just give the bees a new place to hang out" line got me thinking. It's like how people think you can just relocate any problem and it'll fix itself. I see this all the time with parking spots in my neighborhood, someone parks in front of your driveway and people are like "just park somewhere else." Like sure, because convenience and habit don't matter at all. The whole "just move it" mentality forgets that creatures (including us) get attached to specific spots for specific reasons. Bees probably spent weeks scouting that location (they're actually pretty picky) and expecting them to just vibe with a random new shrub is kind of funny when you stop and think about it.

Right, because bees are super into real estate negotiations lmao. "Ok fine, we'll take the shrub.
