PSA: The creek behind my old high school in Fresno is bone dry in April

I went for a walk there yesterday and the entire bed is just cracked dirt, which is about a month earlier than it usually dries up. It's a small thing, but seeing that specific spot so parched really hit me. Has anyone else noticed local water sources disappearing faster this year?

Yeah, the pond by my parents' place in Sacramento was just a mud flat by mid-March. I started keeping a photo log on my phone last year, same spot still had a foot of water then. It's a weird feeling watching a place you know change that fast.

That photo log idea is smart. When you look back at those pictures from last year, does it feel like you're seeing a different place now? I've noticed that with some spots near me, the change is so slow you don't see it until you compare it side by side. It makes you wonder what the baseline even is anymore.

Actually, @jennifer833, Sacramento's dry season often starts pretty early.

A foot of water last year to a mud flat now is crazy, @jennifer833.
