The trick that cut my home energy bill by 40 bucks a month was just sealing the attic hatch with weatherstripping tape

I spent a year swapping bulbs and unplugging stuff before a neighbor mentioned air sealing, and after one afternoon with a roll of foam tape from Ace Hardware the draft just stopped, has anyone else found a stupid simple fix nobody talks about?

My buddy Tim did the same thing last winter and said it felt like his attic was breathing on him before he taped it up... now he's mad he didn't do it sooner.
