TIL my local bike shop in Portland reuses all their cardboard boxes for shipping parts back to suppliers

I dropped off my old rims for truing yesterday and the owner showed me their system where they break down every single box, store the panels flat, then rebuild them for outgoing shipments, saving about 200 pounds of tape and cardboard a month, has anyone else seen shops doing stuff like this to cut waste?

200 pounds of tape and cardboard a month" - that's wild. I've been noticing a lot of small businesses quietly doing stuff like this. Like my coffee shop uses old newspaper for packing, and the plant nursery gives away their plastic pots for free. Feels like the little places figure this out before the big chains even try.
