TIL that shipping one container of cows produces more emissions than flying a private jet across the Atlantic

I was reading that report from the UN Food and Agriculture Organization and I couldn't believe the numbers. A single container ship carrying livestock emits around 55 tons of CO2 equivalent just for that one trip. Meanwhile a private jet from New York to London is like 20 tons. We keep talking about flights but nobody mentions the meat on the boat. Has anyone else seen stats like this that just feel backwards?

That "55 tons" number only works if you count the cow farts as emissions. But private jets pump actual CO2 straight into the upper atmosphere where it does way more damage. Context matters.

Dude you're not wrong, but my math skills are so bad I'd probably try to measure jet emissions in "cow farts per mile" and confuse everyone even more. Private jets really do punch that CO2 straight up high where it sticks around way longer, while cow farts at least break down faster. Totally different league of damage, even if my dumb brain can't do the conversion right. Context is everything, and my brain is the worst context manager out here.
