A coolant line blew at 2am in Lansing and now I disagree with everyone about pre-shift checks
Everyone on my crew swears you only need to check the machine at the start of your shift, but a coolant line popped on our Haas VF-3 at 2:15am in Lansing last Tuesday and sprayed the whole enclosure during a 6 hour run of 4140 parts. I lost 11 parts and had to re-indicate the vise because I never looked at the lines between setups, and since then I check fittings every two hours instead of once. Most guys say that is overkill, so what actually made you change how often you check your machine?
