Bought a $200 coolant filter system for my old Bridgeport retrofit

I was tired of cleaning chips out of the coolant tank every Friday, so I grabbed a basic magnetic and paper filter unit online. It took about three hours to plumb it in with some hose and clamps from the hardware store. Now the coolant stays clear for months and my finish passes are way cleaner with no grit. What's the best upgrade you've made to an older machine that really paid off?

Haha, @matthewdixon, I'm just glad my old setup didn't catch fire first!

Matthewdixon, my old setup sounded like a jet engine trying to take off from my desk. The fan would kick on just to open a web browser. Upgrading felt less like a choice and more like a rescue mission for my own sanity. Now it's so quiet I actually hear my own thoughts, which is a weird new problem.
