PSA: My 5-axis trunnion table lost position mid-cycle yesterday

I was running a complex aluminum aerospace bracket, about 3 hours into the job, when the whole table just shuddered and jumped. I had to scrap the part, reset the work offset, and re-probe everything. Do you guys think this is more likely a servo fault or a mechanical issue with the worm gear?

Did you check the encoder battery? That's a classic cause for a sudden jump.

Did it at least have the decency to throw an alarm, or did it just ghost you mid-cut? Classic Monday on a 5-axis.
