Rant: everyone says tramming the vise is a waste of time, but chasing a 0.006 taper ate my whole morning
Spent four hours on a batch of aluminum brackets in Rockford last week because I skipped tramming and the vise was off just enough to taper every part. I get why guys say it slows you down, but a quick check with a dial indicator would have saved me most of that shift. What is everyone's cutoff for when it is worth tramming versus just sending it?
