Spent $80 on a fancy coolant nozzle that was a total joke

I saw this new coolant nozzle online that promised a perfect mist pattern for deep pocket milling. Bought it for $80 and installed it on our VMC. The first time I ran a job, it sprayed coolant in a circle about two feet wide, missing the tool completely and soaking my shoes. The whole setup was a mess and I had to stop the machine to clean up. What's the dumbest tool or accessory you've ever wasted money on?

Ugh, that sounds exactly like my experience. Honestly, I just went back to the old-school flexible hose with a cheap ball valve. You can bend it right where you need it and pinch the flow to get a solid stream. Took five minutes to set up and cost like twelve bucks.

My kitchen sprayer broke last month and I did the same thing with a vinyl hose from the hardware store. Works better than the fancy replacement head I bought first.

The old-school hose with a ball valve? That actually sounds kind of genius. Wait, you can just pinch the flow with a ball valve to get a solid stream?

But is a perfect sprayer stream really worth stressing over (it's just water, right)?
