Check the coolant concentration first, honestly.

Hard disagree on that being step one. Seen too many guys waste time messing with coolant mix when the real issue was a worn insert or a bad feed rate. Gotta look at the whole picture, not just the first thing you think of. The tool and the cut settings tell you way more before you even check the tank.

Man, I used to blame my tools for everything. A bad finish like that would have sent me down a rabbit hole. Now I check the coolant first every single time.
