Struggling with chip clearance on my DIY CNC mill
I built a small CNC mill for home projects, but chip buildup is ruining my cuts. I'm using a flood coolant system, but it's not helping much. What do you guys do to keep chips moving?

Max361's air blast idea can help a lot. Get a cheap shop air gun and rig it close to the spindle to really blow the chips clear. Make sure your coolant nozzle isn't blocked and is hitting the tool directly, not just splashing around. A stronger pump might fix it if everything else is set up right.

My jobsites have smaller sawdust piles than your CNC, but Charlie's air blast fix seems obvious now, right?

Grab a small compressor and run a line right to the spindle. I zip-tied a cheap air nozzle to the side of the housing, pointing right at the cut. That extra push gets the chips moving so the coolant can actually wash them away instead of just making a paste.
