That time I accidentally ran a program for a 10-inch part on a 6-inch vise

I mean, the crash was loud enough that the guy in the next bay over came running, and we spent the next hour picking aluminum shards out of the coolant tank. Anyone else ever have a brain-fart moment that turned into a major cleanup job?

Read a story once about a guy who did that, and it sounded like a total nightmare to fix.

Our old shop had a coolant line blow on a lathe once, took three guys and a wet vac two hours to clean it up.

That caleb story sounds a bit over the top. I mean, a wet vac and some absorbent pads would handle most of it in an hour.

Wasn't there a post on a machining forum about someone doing something similar but with the coolant line? I remember reading they forgot to switch the program from a dry run and just blasted high-pressure coolant everywhere. It flooded the whole shop floor, like an inch of water and oil mix. Sounded like it took them a full shift just to squeegee and soak it all up. Makes picking chips out of a tank seem almost easy.
