Appreciation post: my first Python script that actually saved time

I wrote a little script to rename about 200 files in a folder. Took me 3 hours to get it right over 2 evenings, but it finished in 2 seconds. Compared to doing it by hand, that would have taken me an hour and a half. Anyone else hit a point where code finally clicked and made your life easier?

Ha, right?! I had a similar wake up call. Last year I spent like three whole afternoons manually resizing a hundred something images for a listing. Then my buddy showed me how to do it in a script in under a minute. Felt like such a dummy for all that wasted time. Once you get over that initial hump of learning the basics, it really does feel like cheating. The hours you save just add up so fast you can't ignore it anymore.

The automation alone saved me HOURS of repetitive clicking and manual file renaming. And the error reduction was a game changer, never again will I manually copy paste data between spreadsheets because that always led to mistakes. Getting basic loops and conditionals down opened up way more possibilities than I expected.
