I finally taught my sister to code a simple calculator.

She got so excited that she tried to use it for everything. Once, she input our grocery list and expected it to calculate the total calories. When it didn't work, she insisted the code was 'hungry'. We spent an hour debugging before realizing she forgot to close a bracket. Now she calls every error a 'bracket monster'.

That bracket monster thing is genius... used to see bugs as just mistakes, but beginners find such creative ways to frame them.

Totally agree about the creative framing, @knight.dylan. It reminds me of how my kid's coding class calls syntax errors "grammar goblins" to make it less scary.

Oh, my niece's art teacher calls smudged lines 'happy accidents' (which honestly makes her less frustrated). It's cool how renaming stuff changes how we see mistakes.

Ever tried calling them "debugging quests"?
