I laughed at my cousin for using pencil and paper to plan code, now I do it at the kitchen table every night
Three weeks ago my cousin stayed with us in Phoenix and I watched him sketch out a whole to do app in a $2 notebook before typing a single line. I told him it was a waste of time, but then I got stuck on my own project and tried his way, and drawing the boxes first made the bugs way easier to spot. Does anyone else plan on paper, or am I just slow at holding it all in my head?
Did you keep the notebook after you finished the app, or do you toss the pages once the code works? I'm curious if you ever go back and look at the sketches later when you gotta change something.
