I thought copying code from YouTube tutorials was cheating, until my practice problems went from 2 hours each to 25 minutes
For my first month learning Python I refused to look at anyone else's code because I thought I had to struggle through every problem alone. Then a friend in my study group showed me how she reads a working example first, types it out once, then rewrites it from memory, and my solve time for basic loops went from over 2 hours to about 25 minutes in just 10 days. Has anyone else had a learning method they thought was "cheating" turn out to be the thing that actually made it click?
I used to think typing out someone else's solution was pointless too, but reading a working example first actually helps your brain see the pattern instead of guessing blind. Your friend's method sounds smart, and 2 hours down to 25 minutes proves it's not cheating at all.
