Why does nobody talk about the panic of your first solo remote coding task?

So, I've been learning Python for a few months now, and last week my manager gave me this bug fix. It was supposed to be simple, just a loop issue, but I kept getting errors. I started overthinking everything, even the indentation, which took me down a rabbit hole. Ended up missing my deadline because I was too proud to ask for help. How do you balance learning on the job with actually getting things done?

Question if your panic is really over a loop or just fear of looking dumb.

But what if it's both?

Wait, two whole days on an indentation error? That's the kind of thing that makes you want to throw your laptop. I get the lesson learned part, but man, that's a brutal way to learn about spaces versus tabs. The panic must have been real by hour six.

My first remote fix took me two full days, honestly. That rabbit hole with indentation, well, it taught me more about Python's rules than any tutorial (seriously). Missing a deadline feels bad, but figuring it out yourself builds skills you keep forever. Sometimes asking for help too soon just gives you the answer without the lesson. Panic can be your brain waking up to the details it usually ignores.
