My brother roasted my pour-over setup and it actually made sense
My little brother came over last weekend and watched me do my whole 15 minute pour-over routine with the gooseneck kettle and scale. He said dude you're spending more time measuring than actually drinking. Told me he just uses a $12 Mr. Coffee from Target and the beans still taste good. Honestly I got mad at first but then I realized he was right. I was way too focused on being fancy and forgot the point was just to enjoy a cup of coffee. has anyone else had someone call them out and make them rethink their whole coffee ritual?

Nah, the ritual is the whole point for me. I'd rather have one really good cup from a careful pour-over than a whole pot of average drip.

Changed my mind completely. Was all about quantity before. Used to drink gas station coffee just to get through the morning. Then my buddy made me a single cup with freshly ground beans and I got it immediately. Now I spend 10 minutes on one cup and wouldn't trade it for anything.
