My French press carafe cracked right before my morning brew yesterday

I poured boiling water into my 8-year-old Bodum and heard a pop, so I had to strain the grounds through a clean kitchen towel into my mug (which actually worked okay, but made a mess).

Eight years ago I would've said something stupid like 'you get what you pay for' about cheaper coffee gear. But @spencer_park26, my old French press lasted exactly three years before the mesh gave out, and I bought it thinking it was a good deal. This post actually made me realize I was wrong about cheaper stuff not lasting. That Bodum story changed my whole view on it.
