Pro tip: I was storing my beans in the freezer for a year and it made my coffee taste flat

I kept my nice Ethiopian beans in the freezer door for freshness, but my morning cup kept tasting weak and weird. My friend came over and saw the bag, and she said the constant temperature change from opening the door was ruining the oils. She told me to try a dark, cool cabinet instead. Has anyone else found a better spot to keep beans in a small kitchen?
