Rant: the $9 pour over at that place near Pike Place was worse than my $2 gas station cup
I was in Seattle two weeks ago and paid $9 for a single origin pour over at a spot a block from Pike Place, and it came out thin and sour like they rushed the bloom. The barista told me the beans were "too delicate" for a darker roast, which felt like a fancy way of saying they under extracted it. Am I crazy for thinking a $9 cup should at least taste like coffee, or has the whole light roast thing gone too far?
