Unpopular opinion: I tried grinding my beans right before brewing for a month and it made zero difference in taste.

My friend spent like $200 on a grinder and swears by it. I can't tell the difference either, feels like one of those things people convince themselves matters.

My cheap grinder sounds like a dying robot and leaves chunks the size of gravel. I'm probably the wrong person to ask about quality.
