Update: my $90 coffee scale just died after two months

I saved up for a fancy scale with a timer, thinking it would make my morning routine perfect. It worked great for about eight weeks, then the display just went blank mid-brew yesterday. I checked the batteries and everything, no luck. Has anyone had a good scale last more than a year without breaking?
