Wrote off pour-over as pretentious BS until I actually tried it
I spent years thinking pour-over was just for hipsters who wanted to feel special. Then a buddy at work brought in a $20 Melitta cone and some basic beans and I couldn't believe the difference in clarity compared to my drip machine. Has anyone else had a coffee method they hated until they gave it a real shot?

Wait, isn't pour-over actually more work for maybe 5% better coffee if you're lucky? I tried it a few times and just got bitter, uneven results while my cheap drip machine makes a consistent cup every time without me standing there watching it.

Clarity" is the thing. Same with how I judged cold brew for years. Dumb.

Oh man, totally. I wrote off whole bean coffee for the longest time because I bought a bad bag once and figured it was all overrated. Took years to come back around.
