Am I the only one who swore off paper towels for a month and then hid a roll in my closet?
Last month my buddy in Portland bet me $20 I could not go 30 days without paper towels, because I am always going on about how wasteful they are. Day one through nine went great, I was wiping counters with old t-shirts like some kind of eco hero. Then my cat knocked a full glass of milk off the counter on day 12, and I stood there with a dripping rag feeling like a total fraud. Around day 18 I caved and bought a 6 pack, stuffed it in the hall closet, and used it in secret so my buddy would not win. The part that really got me was the little rush of relief when I pulled one out, like I had been lying to myself about how easy this was. So is this just me, or does everyone have one crunchy habit they secretly break the second things get messy?
