Caught myself judging a guy for couponing, then realized I do the same thing with gas apps

I was in the checkout line at a Kroger in Columbus last Tuesday and this guy in front of me had a binder full of coupons. My first thought was "man, that's extra." Then I remembered I spent 20 minutes last week comparing gas prices on three different apps just to save 12 cents a gallon. Same energy, different packaging. It made me wonder why we judge people for one kind of saving but celebrate another. Has anyone else caught themselves doing this double standard thing without noticing it?

Couponing takes way more time and planning than checking three gas apps. That binder is a whole system. But yeah, same general idea, just one looks more organized than the other.

That binder is a whole system, and mine is just me squinting at my phone in a parking lot like a lunatic, so honestly @mason_lopez, the coupon guy might be the smart one here. But hey, at least neither of us is paying full price, we're just nerds in different flavors.
