Found out my apartment complex pays $0.18 per kWh for electricity while I'm paying $0.32 in my unit

Pulled the building's utility bill from the office file last Tuesday and realized our resale markup is a flat 78%, which makes me wonder if I should start pushing management to let tenants opt into their bulk rate instead of being stuck with the local provider.

78% markup?! @grantp14 that's insane even with overhead.

Man that 78% markup is brutal. They're really screwing you over. I'd be pissed too if I found that out.

I mean, gotta play devil's advocate here - that 78% markup is probably covering their overhead, shipping, and the fact they have to keep the lights on too. Plus you're paying for convenience and the ability to just show up and buy it instead of hunting around. Not saying it's great, but it's not like they're just pocketing all that extra cash for fun.
