Hot take: I always mocked people who listened to audiobooks, but trying one on a long drive converted me.
Hearing a story instead of reading it opened up a whole new way to enjoy books.

Exactly! That "judging before trying" thing is so real. I swore I'd hate audiobooks until a cross country drive Converted me TOO. Now I get through way more books.

My uncle refused to get a smartphone for years, called them a fad. Now he's glued to his tablet watching bird videos. It's the same thing, @avery_jackson. People dig in their heels on stuff like coffee, certain music, even how they fold towels. They decide they hate the idea of it before their hands ever touch it. Makes you wonder what else we're all missing out on just because we made a snap judgment years ago.

Wait, you actually used to mock people for it? That's wild to me. I get not being into them yourself, but making fun of someone for how they take in a story seems so pointless. It's not like they're hurting anyone. The whole point is the book, right? How you get the words in your head doesn't really matter. Just seems like a weird thing to judge people for before you even tried it yourself.
