I always said you can't fix a stripped screw hole with just wood glue and a toothpick

I mean, I was fixing a wobbly chair leg last week and tried it as a joke, but after letting it dry overnight it held tight. Has anyone else found a weird fix that actually worked when you were sure it wouldn't?

Oh man, my buddy fixed a cracked phone case with super glue and baking soda once. It looked ridiculous but it's still holding.

Baking soda? That sounds like a total science experiment gone wrong.

Haha that's wild. I once used duct tape on a broken flip flop at a festival, looked like a total mess but got me through the weekend.

Does anyone else ever wonder if that baking soda and super glue trick works because it basically creates a micro-concrete? In my experience, the chemical reaction actually hardens the glue more than just using it alone, which might explain why it holds so well on plastics and ceramics. Your mileage may vary on glossy surfaces though, I found it chips off easier there.
