Oh man, I'm gonna push back hard on that. I don't think phones are the real problem here. People have always been bad at listening, we just have better excuses now. I've had plenty of great deep conversations over text where I actually had time to think before typing a response, way more thoughtful than anything I'd blurt out face to face. Phones aren't making us worse listeners, they're just giving us a different way to connect. And honestly, if you never ask follow-up questions, that's a personal habit you gotta work on.
