Just realized I've been composting wrong for 6 months in my own backyard
I've been telling everyone how great my compost pile is, patting myself on the back for being so green. Then I actually tested the temperature last week and it was barely warm, like 80 degrees. Turns out I was just piling up kitchen scraps without enough brown material, so nothing was breaking down properly. I feel kinda dumb for bragging about it to my neighbor when it was basically a wet trash heap. Has anyone else had that moment where you thought you were doing something right but the data proved you totally wrong?

Right, the humble pie is real with gardening fails.

Oh man, that is totally me with my worm bin last year. I was so proud of my "composting" until I opened it and found like three sad worms and a bunch of moldy coffee grounds. Felt like such a fraud when my buddy asked for some of my famous compost.
