My aunt told me to stop drying my cast iron on the stove, and 6 months later I finally get why
My aunt in Fargo watched me flip my skillet upside down on the burner after washing it and told me to dry it with a towel instead, and I smiled and kept doing it my way for 6 months. Last week I picked up my 12 inch pan and the bottom had a warp so bad it rocked on the counter, because heating an empty pan dry and hot on a coil burner does that over time. Do any of you still dry yours on the stove, or did someone have to tell you twice like me?
