My buddy called me out for always having my phone out during movies
We were watching Dune 2 at his place last Friday and I checked my work email during the sandworm scene. He said 'you're not present, you're just scanning for problems' and I felt like an idiot because he was right. How do you guys actually stay off your phones when you're supposed to be relaxing?

You mean actually watching it for the first time, or rewatching it? I used to be the same way with slower movies, always had my phone out during the quiet parts. But @the_anthony has a point here - Dune 2's pacing is deliberate, and those "slow" scenes are building up the tension and worldbuilding in a way that makes the big moments hit way harder. I actually tried putting my phone away for my second viewing and caught so much subtle stuff I missed the first time around, like the way the sandworms move under the surface or the little glances between characters.
