My lifelong fear of raw onions met its match in a street taco
I've proudly told people for years that I can't stand the texture or taste of raw onion on anything. Last week at a food truck, I was so hungry I ate the whole al pastor taco without picking them off first, and it was honestly amazing. Has anyone else had a food rule they broke by accident and actually liked it?

Wait, raw onions actually worked?

Right? Sometimes the sharp bite is exactly what a dish needs.

I used to avoid cilantro at all costs, said it tasted like soap... then my friend's mom made this fresh salsa and I didn't know it was in there. Ended up eating the whole bowl with chips, it was so bright and herby. Totally changed my mind on it.
