Overheard a guy at the gym say 'cardio kills gains' and it made me rethink everything

Tbh I used to think lifting heavy was the only way to get results, but I've been adding 20 minutes of running after my sessions for 3 weeks now and I actually feel stronger. Has anyone else found a weird mix that worked against what everyone told you?

Used to be that guy. Swore by heavy compound lifts only. Then I threw in 15 minutes of jump rope after squat day. Made my legs feel explosive, not dead. Been doing it for two months now, dropped 5 pounds of fat without losing any strength numbers. Old me would've called this a waste of time.

That "old me would've called this a waste of time" line hit me hard. It's wild how we think we have it all figured out then realize we were just being stubborn. Same thing happened with me and stretching - used to think it was pointless but now I can't skip it before deadlifts or my back feels wrecked. It's like that with everything in life honestly, we build these mental boxes around what works and miss all the stuff that actually makes things better. Glad you found something that clicked.

Honestly yeah I was on the "cardio kills gains" train too but this makes me want to try it.
