Thought I was saving money by buying generic protein powder, got a rude surprise
Ordered a huge tub of off-brand whey from a discount site last month. Turns out it was mostly filler and I gained zero muscle after 3 weeks of consistent use. Anyone else fall for a cheap supplement that did nothing?

Oh man, that's rough. A buddy of mine bought a giant bag of some no-name brand from a website he'd never heard of, thought he was getting a steal. He was all excited because the price was like half of what the big brands cost. After a month of drinking that stuff, he said his workouts felt flat and he actually felt weaker. Turns out the label said 25 grams of protein per scoop but a lab test his friend did showed it was mostly just maltodextrin and cheap amino acids. He ended up tossing the whole thing. Really goes to show you get what you pay for, I guess, at least in that game.

No way, his friend actually ran a lab test on it? That's wild. I can't believe they'd just straight up lie about the protein content on the label. Did he ever try to get his money back?

Right @tara642, same thing happened to me with a cheap pre-workout I grabbed online. The label said "explosive energy" and it was basically just flavored sugar water, total scam.
