Tried to fix a leaky faucet myself and flooded the bathroom
My kitchen sink faucet started dripping last Tuesday, so I watched a YouTube video and grabbed a wrench... turned the pipe too hard and water shot everywhere. Took me 3 hours to mop up and I had to call my landlord anyway. Has anyone else had a simple home repair blow up in their face like this?

@henryp40 I feel that so hard with the YouTube guy making it look easy. Those videos always skip the part where you gotta have the right grip or know how tight is too tight. So be honest, when you called that plumber for the bolt you were scared to touch, did they give you a hard time or were they cool about it? I swear my landlord made me feel like an idiot when he came over, but at least he fixed the leak in like 10 minutes after I spent three hours soaking up water.

Man I feel your pain. Last March I tried swapping out a toilet flapper and ended up with water leaking through the downstairs ceiling. The YouTube guy made it look so easy, right? I had to call a proper plumber who charged me 150 bucks just to tighten one bolt I was too afraid to touch after that mess. Now I have a strict rule for myself: if it involves water pipes more than a foot from the sink, I'm not touching it. Did your landlord at least fix it fast or did you have to wait around?
